Coxal plates with only few long marginal setae. Head with rostral hood more or less acute apically; eyes present or vestigial. Antenna 1 slightly shorter than 2; in male antenna 2 flagellum filiform, with calceoli. Mandible with well developed, ridged, molar; maxilla palp 1-articulate; maxilliped palp article 4 long and claw-like. Gnathopods similar, 2 little larger than 1. Pereiopod 5 basis broad, more than twice width of ischium. Sexes generally similar except antenna 2.
