Description:
Epimeral plate 3 prolonged posteriorly, distal angle subacute. Eyes small and rounded, red in colour . Antenna 1 and 2 short, about equal in length. Antenna 1 flagellum about 12-articulate; antenna 2 flagellum about 10-articulate. Gnathopod 1 carpus short with a small posterior lobe, propodus rectangular, palm only weakly oblique, convex, smooth, delimited by an obtuse angle and a small spine. Gnathopod 2 much larger than gnathopod 1, but generally similar; merus acute distally, carpus with a narrow posterior lobe, palm oblique, convex, smooth, delimited by a small group of spines. Pereiopod 7 basis oval with the posterior margin crenulate, merus only slightly broadened, dactylus short and curved. Uropod 1 rami about equal in length; uropod 2 outer ramus a little shorter than the inner one; uropod 3 peduncle short, about half the length of the ramus, margin with two or three short spines, articles 1 and 2 of the ramus about equal in length. Telson oval, devoid of spines, apex rounded.

Up to about 3 mm.
Colour:
Whitish, with red markings on the pereion.
Habitat:
Depth range from the lower intertidal to about 120 metres; usually amongst algae and hydroids; commonly found in small rock pools.
Distribution:
North-East Atlantic; European coasts from northern Norway and Iceland to the Mediterranean and Black Sea; Azores; Canary Islands.
