Description:
Pleon segment 3 weakly carinate. Coxal plate 1 broad distally. Head with the dorsal margin weakly sinuous, rostrum very long and narrow but not reaching end of peduncle article 1 of antenna 1; eyes small, rounded. Antennae quite long and slender in both sexes. Female antenna 1 peduncle article 2 slender, about equal or longer than 1, flagellum about 9-articulate. Male antenna 1 peduncle articles 1 and 2 about equal, flagellum longer than peduncle, proximal articles swollen and setose. Female antenna 2 only little longer than 1, peduncle articles 4 and 5 about equal, flagellum about equal to length of peduncle. Male antenna 2 as long as body, peduncle robust. Gnathopod 1 carpal lobe broad, spinose, propodus suboval, palm convex with margin setose and minutely toothed, dactylus slender and slightly longer than palm. Gnathopod 2 carpal lobe much more slender than 1, spinose, propodus elongate, between two and three times as long as wide, palm convex, margin setose and minutely toothed, dactylus little longer than palm. Gnathopods slightly more slender in female than male. Pereiopods 3 to 6 dactylus very long and rather flattened, longer than propodus. Pereiopod 7 extremely elongate and robust, only weakly spinose, basis with posterior lobe reduced distally. Telson entire, apex convex, with pair of short apical spinules.

Size:
Up to 10 mm.

Colour:
Whitish, tinged with orange dorsally; antennae banded with orange.

Habitat:
Depth range from 20 to 500 metres.

Distribution:
North Atlantic: Arctic Ocean; northern North Sea; recorded frequently in Skagerrak.
