Cyathura carinata

Description:
Body long and narrow, subcylindrical. Eyes small. Antennae small in both sexes. Pereional segments longer than wide. Pleon segments indistinct in both sexes; with the uropodal exopods arching dorsally and medially over the telson. Telson narrowing to a rounded apex. Body length up to about 14 mm. Whitish with a red-brown mottling.

Habitat:
In estuaries or streams crossing the shore, usually in mud.

Distribution:
Recorded from the southwestern Baltic to the Mediterranean and Adriatic.
