Genus Cheirocratus

Body slender, pereion smooth, some pleon segments with small marginal teeth and few spines or setae. Coxal plates small and only weakly overlapping; plate 2 longer than rest. Head without rostrum, lateral lobes and post-antennal angle strongly produced. Antenna 1 much shorter than 2; accessory flagellum small, 2 or 3-articulate. Lower lip with inner lobes. Maxilla 1 and 2 inner plate densely setose medially. Mandible basic, molar very large. Maxilliped well developed, palp 4-articulate. Gnathopods 1 and 2 simple in female; in male gnathopod 1 simple, gnathopod 2 robust and complexly subchelate. Uropods 1 and 2 spinose; uropod 3 reaching well beyond 1, rami about equal, lanceolate, outer ramus 1-articulate. Telson deeply cleft, lobes divergent, apically spinose.
