Chthamalophilus delagei

Description:
Length 1-1.5 mm, white; nearly spherical, mantle opening almost opposite to the stalk. Internal body lobed. Larvae hatch as modified cyprids lacking thoracic limbs.

Habitat:
On Chthamalus stellatus , attached to the side of the body near the cirri. Normally solitary, but up to five at different stages on one host, suggesting gregariousness. One to five percent of the hosts are infected.

Distribution:
Only recorded from north-west France so far.
