Peltogaster curvatus

Description:
Body elongate cylindrical, 4-16 mm in length, apricot-red. Surface covered in small spines. Stalk near the posterior end of the dorsal side. Mantle opening at the anterior extremity.

Habitat:
Parasitic on Pagurus cuanensis and Pagurus prideauxi , but not known from Pagurus bernhardi . Up to 5.5% infection of P. cuanensis . Gregarious, up to one-third of the hosts carrying two to four parasites.

Distribution:
Scattered records Britain and Iceland.
