Description:
Length of whole animal about 18 mm; carapace 8.5 mm; mainly salmon-red. Rostrum narrow, especially in males; paired lateral teeth protruding very little from the edge. Transverse post-rostral groove arched forward centrally, with a pair of distinctive setae in a separate smaller groove just behind it (G. intermedia detail).

Habitat:
Sublittoral, till 15-20 m, exceptionally 25 metres.

Distribution:
From Norway to Dakar and Mediterranean.
