Upogebia deltaura

Description:
Adult body length up to about 80 mm, exceptionally 150 mm. Colour dirty yellow, tinged white, green, or red. Very similar to Upogebia stellata , but lacking the ocular spines; front of carapace, including the rostrum, hairy above. Chelipeds equal and quite robust; the moveable dactyl only slightly longer than the thumb, no pronounced fringe of hairs along the edge of the manus, and only a short spine on the outer extremity of the carpus; abdomen broader and more softy membranous than Upogebia stellata .

Habitat:
Uses burrows of other animals, from LWST to 40 metres.

Distribution:
From Norway to Spain and Mediterranean and Black Sea.
