Description:
Coxal plates rather larger in female than in male; plate 1 quadrate and partly obscured, plates 2 to 4 with distal margins coarsely toothed; epimeral plate 3 posterodistal angle with small tooth. Head with acute curved rostrum, little longer in male than female; lateral lobes narrowly produced with apex downturned: eyes moderately large and rounded. Antenna 1, peduncle articles decreasing in length from 1 to 3, flagellum in female about 6-articulate with few long setae, in male little longer with tufts of long setae. Antenna 2 about equal to length of antenna 1, peduncle article 4 slightly longer than 5, flagellum very short and about 6-articulate. Gnathopod 1 carpus with small posterior lobe, propodus tapering proximally with anterodistal angle acutely produced, palm convex and finely toothed, dactylus much longer than palm and very slender. Gnathopod 2 larger than 1, merus with acute distal angle, carpus with elongate lobe reaching to proximal angle of palm, propodus narrow proximally and with anterodistal angle acutely produced, palm convex and finely toothed, dactylus long and slender. Pereiopods 5 to 7 basis oval with posterior margin serrate. Uropod 3 reaching well beyond 1, rami slender with few marginal setules. Telson elongate triangular, reaching to about mid-point of peduncle uropod 3.

Brownish or reddish.
Habitat:
Usually taken from moderate depths; range from 30 to 375 metres.
Distribution:
North East Atlantic and Arctic Ocean; from Iceland and north Norway to Bay of Biscay.
