Description:
Urosome with an only very weakly elevated dorsal margin, spine groups with a few short setae, spines elongate. Epimeral plates 2 and 3 with the distal angle acutely produced, posterior margin regularly concave, plate 2 posterior margin with several short setules, plate 3 with one or no setule. Head with the lateral lobes sloping forwards, upper angle produced, post-antennal sinus shallow; eyes small, elongate kidney-shaped. Antenna 1 peduncle sparsely setose, peduncle article 1 with one ventral setal group, article 2 with one or two setal groups, article 3 with one setal group (excluding apical setae); accessory flagellum elongate, much longer than peduncle article 1, about 8 to 12-articulate. Male antenna 2 peduncle articles 4 and 5 with a dense transverse row of setae, those on the inner surface often curled distally, flagellum very short, up to only about 12-articulate, proximal articles also densely setose, proximal articles with calceoli. Female antenna 2 only sparsely setose, without tufts of curled setae, calceoli absent. Mandible palp article 1 devoid of setae, article 3 with one or two setal groups on the outer surface, ventral setae comb-like, graduated, becoming shorter proximally. Male gnathopod 1 propodus, palmar margin strongly sinuous, large truncated median spine well separated from the angle spines, proximal posterior margin with about five to seven setal groups. Male gnathopod 2 propodus much broader than in gnathopod 1 and the palm less oblique, margin only slightly sinuous, truncated median spine well separated from the angle spines, posterior margin with about eight or nine setal groups. Female gnathopod 1 propodus suboval, palm oblique; female gnathopod 2 propodus subrectangular, palm almost transverse. Pereiopod 5 basis only slightly longer than wide, distal angle freely produced. Pereiopod 6 basis with the posterior margin strongly convex. Pereiopod 7 basis only slightly longer than wide, posterior margin angular, distal angle not freely produced but with a pair of stout spines; merus and carpus strongly spinose but without setae amongst spines. Uropod 3 rami about equal in length, margins with spines and plumose setae. Telson lobes with three apical spines, one subapical spine, three lateral spines, occasional small seta only.
