Description:
Coxal plates only moderately large. Distal angle of epimeral plate 3 with a small upturned tooth, posterior margin strongly convex; plate 1 with the anterior margin concave. Head with the lateral lobes prolonged and rounded; eyes large, oval, red in colour; eyes much larger in male than in female. Antenna 1 about one-third body length, peduncle article 1 very large with small distoventral tooth, articles 2 and 3 short, flagellum multi-articulate, articles very compressed, calceoli present; accessory flagellum well developed, up to about 12-articulate. Antenna 2 in female only little longer than 1, in male almost as long as body, peduncle articles 4 and 5
short and robust, flagellum multi-articulate, calceoli present. Gnathopod 1 simple, ischium elongate, propodus slender and tapering distally, about equal to length of carpus, dactylus strongly curved with tuft of small spinules on inner margin. Gnathopod 2 also simple, propodus scarcely half length of carpus, setose distally, posterior margin straight, anterior margin rounded, palm not defined. Pereiopods 5 to 7 basis expanded; pereiopods increasing in length from 5 to 7. Coxal gills distinctly pleated. Uropods biramous; uropod 1 rami about equal; uropod 2 inner ramus shorter than outer with deep median cleft and long marginal spine; uropod 3 inner ramus little shorter than outer, margins spinose and weakly setose. Telson cleft to three-quarters of it's length, each lobe apically rounded, with a small spinule.

Colour:
Pale green with a red tinge on the coxal plates and urosome.
Habitat:
Depth range from 35 metres to more than 1100 metres.
Distribution:
North East Atlantic; European coasts from western Norway to Mediterranean.
