Description:
Body robust, smooth; urosome segment 1 with a distinct dorsal depression; coxal plate 1 much shorter than 2 and partly concealed, plates 2 to 4 very elongate, plates 5 to 7 large; epimeral plate 3 with posterior margin broadly rounded. Head, lateral lobes triangularly produced, rounded; eyes very large and elongate. Antenna 1 very short, peduncle article 1 especially robust, almost as wide as long, articles 2 and 3 strongly compressed, flagellum about 8-articulate with article 1 large and setose; accessory flagellum 5-articulate. Antenna 2 in female slender, equal to length of 1, and 5-articulate; in male antenna 1 as long as body, flagellum filiform; antenna 1 and 2 in male with calceoli. Gnathopod 1 robustly chelate, carpus small, propodus large and broader than long, anterior margin very short, posterior margin very broadly rounded with distal angle produced to form pincer-like closure with large strongly curved dactylus. Gnathopod 2 propodus much shorter than carpus, minutely subchelate. Pereiopods 5 to 7 short and slender, basis broadly rounded. Uropod 3 elongate, rami slender, inner margins with long setae. Telson very long and narrow, cleft nearly to base, each lobe with few dorsal and apical spines.
