Description:
Urosome segment 1 dorsal margin with a conspicuous depression and a rounded keel; epimeral plate 3 posterodistal angle with a small tooth. Head with broad lateral lobes, triangularly produced; eyes very large, oval. Antenna 1 peduncle article 1 very large and robust, articles 2 and 3 strongly compressed, flagellum about 11-articulate with article 1 large and setose; accessory flagellum well developed, about 10-articulate. Antenna 2 in female only slightly longer than antenna 1, flagellum about 20-articulate, in male much longer than in female; antenna 1 and 2 in male with calceoli. Gnathopod 1 propodus and carpus about equal in length, propodus narrowly rectangular, palm short and transverse delimited by a pair of large spines, dactylus with a small tooth on the inner margin, palmar margin crenulate. Gnathopod 2 propodus much shorter than the carpus, narrowly oval, minutely subchelate/chelate. Pereiopods 5 to 7 quite slender, basis very broad with the posterior margin finely toothed. Uropods 1 and 2 spinose, rami about equal in length; uropod 3 rami lanceolate, inner ramus equal to the length of article 1 of the outer ramus and more slender, inner distal margins with one to three long setae in female, in male, the setae more numerous with a few spines. Telson of moderate length, cleft to three-quarters of its length, each lobe with three or four lateral and one apical spinule.

Colour:
Whitish, with orange tinged patches.
Habitat:
Depth range from 60 to 660 metres.
Distribution:
Boreal; North-East Atlantic, Iceland, north and west Norway to the English Channel.
