Description:
Urosome segment 1 dorsal margin with 3 small teeth, segment 2 with 4 teeth each with long seta, segment 3 only with pair of setae. Coxal plates small. Epimeral plate 3 distal angle with small tooth. Head with lateral lobes very prominent, rounded, separated from post-antennal angle by narrow cleft; eyes moderately large, rounded. Antenna 1 shorter than peduncle of 2, peduncle article 1 distal angle with small tooth; accessory flagellum very small, 2-articulate. Antenna 2 peduncle slender, article 3 with apical tooth. Gnathopod 1 simple, setose, propodus equal to, or little shorter than, carpus, dactylus small. Male gnathopod 2 robustly subchelate, carpus short, propodus large, subrectangular, palm oblique and complexly sculptured, delimited by large tooth and spine. Palmar margin with 2 median teeth and large truncated process close to base of dactylus, dactylus very robust and strongly curved. Female gnathopod 2 slightly larger than 1, but similar. Pereiopods 5 to 7 large and robust; pereiopod 7 with merus, carpus and propodus rather flattened, dactylus very small. Uropod 3 rami lanceolate, spinose, about twice length of peduncle. Telson short and broad, deeply cleft, lobes divergent, each apically truncated with small group of spines.

Pale yellow speckled with red.
Habitat:
Depth range from 10 to 60 metres.
Distribution:
North East Atlantic; European coasts from the Kattegat to the Mediterranean.
