Description:
Head with short downturned rostrum reaching beyond mid-point of peduncle article 1 of antenna 1; eyes moderately large, oval. Antennae setose; Female antenna 1 peduncle article 1 as long as, or little longer than, article 2, flagellum about 7-articulate. Male antenna 1 peduncle articles decreasing in length from 1 to 3, flagellum article 1 equal to length of 2-3 combined. Female antenna 2 equal to length of 1 or little longer, peduncle articles 4-5 subequal, flagellum about 7-articulate. Male antenna 2 flagellum very slender, as long as body. Gnathopod 1 carpal lobe elongate, slender, with large apical spine, propodus oval, palm with about 6 rounded marginal teeth and several smaller intermediate teeth, distal margin minutely serrate or toothed. Gnathopod 2 propodus very long and slender, carpal lobe reaching just beyond end of propodal process, inner margin of propodal process crenulate distally and finely toothed proximally. Pereopods 3-4 densely setose, dactylus minute. Pereopods 5-6 dactylus moderately large. Pereopod 7 very long, spinose. Uropods long and slender, rami with margins minutely toothed. Telson with apex entire, rounded.

Up to 5 mm.
Colour:
Yellowish with broad band of brown on pereon segments 5-6 and pleon segments 3 and 6.
Habitat:
Depth range from 10 to 140 metres.
Distribution:
Mediterranean; Atlantic coast of Europe; English Channel; not widely recorded, and probably confused with haplocheles
