Description:
Female body asymmetrically oval. Pereion segments distinct, pereiopods small. Pleon segments fused in the mid-line, sides without lateral projections; with 5 pairs of uniramous lamellar pleopods and lacking uropods. Oostegites 1, large, remainder smaller and divergent, eggs being partially enclosed by host carapace. Male pleotelson with the segments fused; without uropods.
Female body length up to 11 mm, males 2 mm.

Habitat:
In the branchial cavity of Palaemon serratus , where it gives rise to the so-called face ache condition of the prawn.
